Call to Action: 9-1-1 SAVES ACT

Each and every day, emergency communications professionals sit down and began answering calls the change the lives of the individuals calling. The 9-1-1 SAVES Act is a piece of legislation that reclassifies public safety communications to the “protective” occupation class – the same as police officers, fire fighters and even parking enforcement. Currently, these individuals are classified as secretaries, the same as secretaries, and taxi cab dispatchers. It is time to recognize those who are the first to act in an emergency, it’s time to recognize those emergency communications professionals as true first responders!
