Christmas in July is Back!

Its Back!

Missouri APCO is proud to once again host the Christmas in July Chapter Engagement Project!

Get competitive and duke it out with centers across the state for fame, glory… and some free food! All you have to do is do some good in your own community by collecting much needed hygiene and first aid supplies for a local charity/organization!

This program runs from July 1 through July 31, 2022.

Project Criteria:

  • The project runs from 00:00 on July 1, 2022 through 23:59 on July 31, 2022
  • Two winning agencies will be selected based on size
    • Small – Agencies who employ 5-20 telecommunications staff.
    • Large – Agencies who employ 21 or more telecommunications staff.
  • Each division will be awarded one winner based on the total number of donations received. 
  • Participating centers will select a local charity or organization to deliver collected goods to.
    • The center shall coordinate with the local charity/organization to determine any specific needs they should collect and items they should not accept. 
      • Recommended hygiene items include: 
        • travel shampoo, conditioner, cotton swabs, cotton balls, toothbrushes, toothpaste, non-alcoholic mouth wash, shaving creme, body wash, soap, anti-perspirant/deodorant, nail care, feminine hygiene, powder, bath scrubs, etc.
      • Recommended first aid products include:
        • Band-aids, antiseptic cream/ointment, first aid pain relief spray, bandages, etc.
    • The Center will be responsible for coordinating delivery with that organization.
  • Participating Centers will collect new or still packaged hygiene or first aide products beginning on July 1 and ending end of day on July 31, 2022. 
  • On August 1, 2022, participating centers will count the number of products collected.
  • Center employees will take a picture with all collected items, along with signs containing their Agency Name and the hashtag #MOAPCOChristmasInJuly
  • Centers will submit their totals and photos on the form located at moapco.org/contest
  • Submissions MUST be received by end of business on August 5, 2022.
  • Winners will be announced on social media and the MOAPCO website on August 19, 2022. 
  • Winners will be awarded at the convenience of the Regional Ambassador but should be completed by the MPSCC in October.
  • The winner for the Small Agency Division will receive a$100 pre-paid gift card to be used for a food celebration, along with a certificate of recognition. 
  • The winner for the Large Agency Division will receive a$200 pre-paid gift card to be used for a food celebration, along with a certificate of recognition. 
  • Prize and certificate will be hand delivered by the local Regional Ambassador, should the Ambassador be unable to hand deliver the award, it may be mailed to the center or presented by another nearby board member.
  • If hand delivered, a photo will be taken of the Regional Ambassador awarding the winners. These photos will be posted to the MOAPCO website and social media, as well as be provided to the agency for their public relations use. A photo and write up may be submitted to APCO International for publication
