The Missouri Chapter of APCO needs your help! We’re officially out of our first challenge coin design! Now, this is where you come in. As a member-focused, member-driven association, we are calling on you, the members of the Association to help us celebrate our Chapter.
Submit your design using the submission form below by June 2, 2023 to be considered in the contest. Received designs will be emailed to the membership for consideration and selection during the summer months. The creator of the selected design will receive the first mint of the coin along with a certificate of appreciation.
*The chapter will retain the rights to reproduce the work of the submission and utilize the submission in various ways including social media and moapco.org. The chapter retains the right to edit the submission as necessary to produce.
Design Considerations :
- Celebrates the history of the Chapter. 2025 is the Chapter’s 70th Anniversary. Missouri played a pivotal role in the initial establishment of APCO and leadership throughout the Association’s History, including Past-President’s Everett Fisher, Harry Duncan and Jacob Bowers.
- Celebrates the innovativness of the Chapter and our programs such as Teammates in Action, Totes of Hope and the Missouri Professional Training Partnership
- Celebrates our committment to our membership and our mission of being member focused, change oriented and member driven.
- Reflects positively on the Chapter and the emergency communications profession
- Utilizes the full Missouri APCO Logo or Missouri APCO emblem (state and shield only)
- Each coin design should have a unique front-facing and reverse facing design.

Criteria:
- The project begins on July 1, 2019, and ends on July 31, 2019.
- Agencies will be divided into two divisions:
- Small – Agencies who employ 5-20 telecommunications staff.
- Large – Agencies who employ 21 or more telecommunications staff.
- Each division will be awarded one winner based on the total number of donations received. (revised by board allowing for small agency 2nd place prize)
- Participating centers will select a local charity or organization to deliver the collected goods to. The center will be responsible for coordinating delivery with that organization.
- Participating centers will collect canned and non-expiring food along with new or still packaged toys.
- On August 1, 2019, participating centers will count the number of canned goods, and the number of toys collected separately.
- Center employees will take a picture with all collected items along with signs containing their Agency Name and #MOAPCOChristmasInJuly.
- Participating centers will access www.moapco.org/contest and utilize the submission form located there. Information required is:
- Agency Name
- Region
- Contact Information
- Number of canned/non-expiring food collected
- Number of new/unpackaged toys collected
- The organization receiving food donations
- The organization receiving toy donations.
- Contest Photo
- Submissions must be received by Friday, August 9, 2019
- Winners will be verified by Regional Ambassadors by Friday, August 16, 2019.
- Winners will be announced via Website and Social Media on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
- Winners will be awarded at the convenience of the Regional Ambassador but should be completed by the MPSCC in October.
- The winner for the Small Agency Division will receive a $100 pre-paid gift card to be used for a food celebration, along with a certificate of recognition. Both will be hand delivered by that region’s Regional Ambassador, should the Regional Ambassador be unable to hand deliver the award, it may be mailed to the center.
- The winner for the Large Agency Division will receive a $200 pre-paid gift card to be used for a food celebration, along with a certificate of recognition. Both will be hand delivered by that region’s Regional Ambassador, should the Regional Ambassador be unable to hand deliver the award, it may be mailed to the center.
- If hand delivered, a photo will be taken of the Regional Ambassador awarding the winners. These photos will be posted to the MOAPCO website and social media, as well as be provided to the agency for their public relations use. A photo and write up may be submitted to APCO International for publication
