Missouri APCO Recognizes VanHooser of Boone County Joint Communications as a Teammate in Action

The Missouri Chapter of APCO is pleased to recognize Emergency Telecommunicator Jasmine VanHooser of Boone County Joint Communications as a Teammate in Action!

On November 25, 2023, Emergency Telecommunicator VanHooser received an emergency call from a male in a motel reporting that his pregnant partner was in labor. VanHooser walked the daddy-to-be through the delivery while calmly and expertly helping the mother deliver through the contractions while also coaching the father on how to help catch his baby before EMS and fire arrived on scene.

Central Regional Ambassador Angie Stieferemann presents VanHooser with her certificate of achievement on June 24th.

This is a monumental career moment for any telecommunication and this family will have quite the story to tell! Often the Telecommunicator’s contributions can be overlooked by the public as we are not the ones arriving on scene or transporting individuals. Boone County Joint Communications is extremely proud of Jasmin for helping to bring a new baby girl into the world and Missouri APCO is pleased to recognize her as a Teammate in Action!

Jasmine was recognized during an intimate ceremony at Boone County Joint Communications on June 24th. She was presented with a certificate of recognition and a Missouri Teammate in Action pin by Central Regional Ambassador Angie Stiefermann.
