On August 1, 2021 the Young Professionals Special Committee will come into being. This committee is for Missouri APCO members aged 35 and younger and is tasked with many goals and deliverables to further the development of young professionals in this industry.
The committee has been tasked by President Zachary Dykes to
- promote younger membership within the association through outreach.
- engage younger members within the association and promote involvement in the chapter.
- develop and administer a mentorship program to better develop young professionals across the state. (Members 35 and older, this is where you come into play!)
- host a young professional mixer or other network opportunities for young professionals in Missouri.
- recognize the achievements of young professionals in Missouri.
- determine and coordinate a service project to be held in conjunction with a Missouri conference.
President Dykes feels that it is important to focus on the development of our younger peers and promoting the viability of emergency communications as a lifelong career. It is with this in mind that the Missouri Chapter is establishing the Young Professionals committee.
If you are a Missouri Chapter member, 35 years of age or younger and would like to become involved in this committee, please reach out to President Dykes.
We look forward to seeing what this committee can accomplish!
