Missouri Professional Training Partnership Hosts Virtual First Responder Disability Awareness Training

The Missouri Professional Training Partnership in conjunction with Niagara University is proud to offer a virtual First Responder Disability Awareness Course on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024.

This course is offered for FREE through grant funding, but is restricted to those public-safety communications professionals who operate in Missouri only. This is a full 8-hours of training and students must be present for the entire course in order to receive credit. 

This training gives support and guidance specific to telecommunicators when responding to individuals with disabilities. The disabilities covered in this training are wide ranging and include autism, those who are blind, deaf or hard of hearing, those who have various types of dementias, individuals with developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health illness, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, speech and communication impairments and more. This training was designed and is administered through Niagara University’s First Responders Training is offered in Missouri through grant funding.
